  • Re: Country Fair is Here

We have wanted to go -- but we're a little bit skeered. LOL. Maybe next year? or the year after?

  • Re: Destroy Mac Court?

I'm relatively new to the area, but I really feel it should be saved -- there's too much invested in it -- history and memories. What's the point of demolishing it? Use it in another wonderful and creative way.

  • Re: Simpsons Springfield

The whole contest was a lot of fun -- attended the city meeting, tried to get folks to vote for us -- the truth is known -- and Groening proved it with his letter to Mayor Leiken. All in all, it was just FUN! I'm a newish Springfield resident -- just under two years. Love it here.

  • Jared Mayer's Symphony Setup for Eugene Celebration

What a suh-weet piece! Nicely put together. I am a new resident, relatively so as it'll just be two years here come November. I'm hoping to find some time this weekend to enjoy the Eugene Celebration.

  • Re: Sex Shop at the Fair

Thinking a lot here and I'm not upset about a sex shop booth at the fair. You can simply move past it. What's the deal? Are you going to stop and stare? Why? What prompted you? Were you seeking it out or what? This has always honestly made me wonder. I really want to know. There is another booth at the fair that doesn't represent a porno store, but ...

  • Re: Lowes To Build In Springfield

You're welcome, Cassandra! And thanks for the insight on calling the mayor's office. I just read in the paper today that there had been a meeting to discuss a Home Depot just two blocks down the road from where I live on Centennial. Aaaghhh! And no worries on having a California political mindset -- I'm a Seattle native and lived most of my life ...

  • Re: Lowes To Build In Springfield

Oh no! Now, I've never thought Jerry's prices were high. What I was sure of was that they stock things that other stores don't. When we visited Olyympia and their Lowe's, my husband needed a blade for slicing out blackberries, specific to a weedeater and the bigger stores didn't have it, neither Home Depot nor Lowe's. They (the latter) were very ...

  • Re: ☠ BEWARE of buying gas here! ☠

Great heads up! I don't carry much cash, if ever, and rely upon my debit card. I have gone traveling before and bitten hard by the pre-charge where Arco will hold up to $50 in your account. I barely limped home on a just a few gallons of gas on my last trip between Sacramento and here. Ugh!

  • Re: Lowes To Build In Springfield

Ahhh... there is the argument I have. I am relatively new to the area, having lived here for just a year and a half and I'm puzzling over why a Lowe's would be needed when Jerry's is right nearby in the same area. I do see a huge proliferation of credit unions too -- truly necessary and why? Where I moved from in northern California it was getting ...

  • Re: Plastic Bag Ban at Grocery Stores

Yea! Yeah, they're fairly inexpensive. Market of Choice sells them for slightly cheaper with their logo... I think sharing them with friends and family is a fantastic idea! And I too just saw what Sanipac is doing. Hurray! I had quite a stockpile here. :-D
