People, if you look back over the last 10-20 years or so, you will find that your State Government has taken many rights from you, one here one there, and all we do about it is complain. Have you all forgotten that the Government works for you "For The People" these laws can be changed. It just takes the majority to do it. The sad fact is most of these laws were passed "by the people" having said that, it means the majority are not capable of making a decision by themselves, and need an officer to tell them with a fine.
Now that’s funny, the problem is not the "stupid" rights taking laws that are being past. It is the people that are allowing it, and yes, I include myself in that statement. I am a reformed smoker and can remember not so many years ago smoking was widely accepted. I am also a business owner; a few years ago, I was sent a sticker from our Government telling me that I was not allowed to smoke in my business anymore. I do not remember having a vote in this, maybe I will be told next, I cannot warm my lunch in the microwave; it does affect older pacemakers you know.
· I have been in the Towing and recovery business for nearly 30 years, I can tell you first hand that seat belts are 50/50 I have seen just as many people that have died as a direct result of wearing them.
· Helmets, well that’s a "no brainer" sorry could not help the pun, however it should be up to the bike owner, he is the one that ultimately pays for the mistake.
· Smoking, if you do not like smoke, do not go to a place that has smoking. Like microwaves, as a business owner I should be able to put up a sign that say “smoking inside” inter at your own risk. So what if you do not drink or chew tobacco, should they be banned as well?
· Property, I bought it, I pay the taxes on it, and I maintain it, so why does someone else tell me what I can use it for, build on it or do with it.
People these are just four of the more popular rights that have been taken, now take a moment and look back. If you added them all up you will be shocked, now is the time to stand up for your rights, and if you do not, what you lose will be your fault.
