    Smiths TV ads

Lately, it has become almost impossible to avoid Smiths TV ads; where he brags about all his Democrat buddies and how he is always advocating for their loony left crusades.

Fellow Republicans; are you as sickened and embarrassed by these as I am?

Lately, it seems as if the Smith and the President are doing their damnedest to destroy the GOP.

    Re: Smiths TV ads

I know next to nothing about politics, but I assume that Smith is running those ads because they emphasize what he needs to sell in order to survive here in the land of OZ.

I've marveled at the slant that measures every GOP candidate by the percentage of time he/she votes with the president. Smith is criticized for voting with Bush 90% of the time -- a number which is pretty close to where moderate Democrats were voting four years ago. That's no surprise given the amount of bi-partisan legislation.

For me, the most discouraging thing it the reliance on complete ignorance of the average voter. The advertisements assume we're all idiots. (I assume they've done the polling to verify that and discovered that only about one in thirty voters has any idea what politicians really do or how they vote.) Given that sad state of affairs, they can do or say anything...and generally do.

I've been doing a little informal poll I encourage others to participate in. Ask a Rob Handy supporter to name Rob's greatest accomplishment or achievement and the top three reasons they think he's qualified to run the county. So far, I've spoken to four Handy supporters and NONE of them could name a single achievement or point to a single attribute that suits him for the job. All they could do was parrot slogans and advertising spin. None of them knew anything about Bobby Green either. I swear, they're all like the politicians herding around Mel Brooks in the movie "Blazing Saddles". They have no idea what they're doing or why they're doing it.

Funny thing is I see an equal amount of both, but it seems that Merkley's ads are more desperate.

Well, the day of Doom has come and gone.  Sure enough, Smith lost.  Gotta give him credit, he seemed to do everything in his power to make this loss happen and he succeeded.

It's like these guys WANTED to get kicked out; like some kind of conspiracy or something.

Anyone ever read Orwells 1984?  Remember the secretive, hunted enemy of Big Brother and Ingsoc?  Remember Goldstein?  Remember how the book toward the end eluded to Ingsoc actually inventing Goldstein so they would even own the opposition?  So even when you fought Big Brother you were empowering him?  It's like the Democrats are Ingsoc, Barak Hussein is todays Big Brother and the Republican Party is Goldstein.  I'm just sayin'........
