    Operation Santa USMC

Hi there I am new here and I have a huge favor to ask.  I have the pleasure of working again this year with an awesome bunch of people that send packages overseas to our troops.  Last year we had an awesome turnout as far as donations and help stuffing the stockings.  We are hoping to do even better this year.  Last year some friends and I baked 1,700 cookies and packed them in tins to send to the troops.  It gave me such a good feeling when I got the cards and letters from the ones that received them.  What I am asking for is donations of items that are needed by our troops, this project has nothing to do with your support or nonsupport of the war, politics or personal opinions about any of it.  Our troops are there and we can't ignore them, they need these things and it means so much to them to receive these packages from home.  I am enclosing a list of items that we really need and would be appreciated by them.  If any of you can find it in your hearts to help us make Christmas a little nicer please contact me and I will pick up your items or let you know where you can drop them off.

    Thank You in advance

    Sherrell

OK I see that 69 people have viewed this and not one person from here has stepped up and said you would help and that really makes me sad.  I have gotten a lot of responses from all the other places I have posted and that's OK.  I really wish when I sit down and write out my letters this year that I can tell the soldiers that I had help from some great people in this great community I guess I was wrong.  At least I will be able to hold my head high when I meet a member of our Military and know that I did everything I could.  I feel sorry for the people that can't look past their political beliefs to help our men and women.

Sorry if I wasted space on this site I won't bother any of you again!

Let  me see, We've paid a Trillion on this war already,  the feds have 700 billion to bailout Wall St.

Haliburton has been paid 500 billion, can't they buy a few granola bars?

Maybe you should go to Wall St or Congress to get help for your GI's.

Sorry to be cynical but americans have gave too much to this war already, with no end in sight.

Yea, I gave at the office, I'm a drug crazed 'Nam Vet, 68-69.

I read your original post and thought..ok, that's nice, but I donate elsewhere.  Then I read your 2nd post and thought...HOW DARE YOU!  Your tactics are offensive and I would urge people to not have any thing to do with any task you are involved with.  There is not a day that I do not think about our Men and Women in the Armed Services, but I will not allow you or anyone to "Guilt" me into any action.  For you to attack me for not immediately jumping on your band wagon deminishes your supposed cause.

For the record, I am a Army Veteran and the mother of a US Marine and I do support the Troops, only I do it through a recognized organization such as MarineParents.com and their Operation Care Package program.  And for the record I do urge people to donate to that cause if they feel so inclined.  If not, then that's ok too.

I would think that you need to re-evaluate your social skills or have someone else do the speaking for your "group" as you will continue to be a detriment to your own cause.

Both the first and second post were written by the same person. If someone stole your password , don't blame this site, blame your 'co-workers'.
