pookers70:I just cant believe that a 12 foot python is for sale to the public in Eugene that is obviously capable of inflicting injury to people in our community. If this was a dog for sale in the pet store it probably wouldnt have made it to the news, let alone be advertised by the news that is was still for sale. The fact that this creature is for sale and has now had media public attention to be sold to home with children or other innocent animals is not only scary but wrong, Had it been a pit bull that attacked the store employee would it still be advertised for sale? I dont think so. Im guesssing that not much of a background check is required to purchase this dangerous snake.. I am an animal lover and I fully understand that some people appreciate reptiles and are comfortable in bringing one into their home responsibly but, if I found out this dangerous snake was in my neighborhood and that could possibly inflict harm to my children or others, I would have to assist in legal action to have it removed from potentially bringing harm to my family.
I understand this snake was only acting on its own instinct for whatever reason but I do not want it anywhwere near my home or other innocent victims.
This pet store is a public place where children and others obviously are not safe to visit.
Obligatory responses:
"Won't somebody please think of the children?!?"
"Maybe the dingo ate your baby!"
"Who let these ************ snakes in this ************* neighborhood?"
Clearly, we should just go ahead and ban everything you're afraid or otherwise ignorant of. That's the sane, logical answer.
