    Record/Play DVD Problem

I've got a weird problem with my DVD recorder and I hope someone out there can set me right with this thing.

I can record to the DVD from the TV or my Camcorder.  Have done both.  Put those DVD's in the machine and they play just fine.  What I'm finding, however, is that my recorded discs won't play on anyone ELSES machine!  (at least, I haven't found one yet).

I have been using DVD-R discs.  Is this the problem?  Is there something else I can do to get this critter to record for other machines?

(fortunately, that machine also records good-ole VHS and have resorted to that when recording.  But it sure would be nice to get the stupid DVD happening)

    Re: Record/Play DVD Problem

Have to Finalized the DVD before playing on other DVD players?

You have to finalize it before it will work on any other DVD player.

Read your manual on how to finalize the disc for your recorder. Once the Disc is finalized you will not be able to add any thing to it!

I always recommend that you do not go over the SP 2 hour mode in recording movies

    Hope this help’s

    YOWZA!!

MrPhoto - ya saved me.  On 2 of the machines we had trouble with, we finalized the DVDs and sent them back.  They both played like champions.

My only problem now is that I'm so embarrassed that I hadn't thought of this myself. Embarrassed
