    Favorite Pizza House

For me, this is dead simple, Joey's on South A in Springfield. Four outstanding reasons for this.

    (1) Initial Night. The first letter of your last name is your key to the best deal in town for Pizza. Simple to know your night. If your name is Adams - it's the 1st of the month. If it's Larsen - it's the 12th. You can get a Pepperoni or Canadian Bacon and Pinapple Pizza - any size - for half price plus a buck. Half price is pretty doggone good but when you combine this with........

    (2) Some of the best regular prices around ( you really got something). And the great prices aren't just on Pizza. Beer & salads are downright freindly to your wallet at Joey's.

    (3) I think they have about the best Pepperoni around . It comes in these small slices that are probably smaller than a 50c pieces. But it's about perfect on a Pizza.

    (4) Staff - Have been going to Joey's for decades and they most always got good folks slinging the grated cheeze. It's a family owned outfit and you can get a sense of it as soon as you walk in the door.

Joey's isn't for the guy looking to impress his High maintainace girl friend. It's awful "down home". They don't spend a lotta money on upkeep and fancy tables and such. When you charge these great prices, you can't afford to get fancy. Suits me just FINE!

Roaring Rapids in Springfield is great.  Awesome deck seating right on the Willamette river in the summer.  Giant merry-go-round for the kids.  And some really great pizza.  I suggest the BBQ Chicken.

Also in Creswell, you've got to try a Bulldog at Mr. Macho's.  That is a serious pie.

    Re: Favorite Pizza House

Still gotta give the first nod to Joey's BUT there is no denying that Roaring Rapids has the very best location going!  That is a heck of a little chunk of real estate there; it really adds to the Pizza experiance.  And that merry-go-round is a one of a kind deal.

    (But isn't that Glenwood?)

    Re: Favorite Pizza House

Is Glenwood its own town?  I always thought it was like Thurston, just an area of Springfield.

By the way BEWARE SHAMELESS PLUG.

If you click here.  You will go to our Local 4 Less page, where you can get 50% off gift certificates from local businesses.

I mention it because there are two pizza locations in there right now.  Pizza Pete's and Papa Johns.  I just bought a Papa Johns $20 gift certificate for $10 and plan on using it tonight, when my parents come over to my house to watch the Duck game.

Hmmm.....I've alway been of the mind that Glenwood was it's own town.  And lately there was all that annexation talk.

If anybody knows for sure - please chime in.

YEP Badgerrr,,, The voters in Springtown bought the WHOLE D***MD thing... Of course our property taxes have reflected the painful fact... Eugene was too smart to get caught taking on the GW mess..... And YES, Roaring rapids is a good place to go if you have young-uns..

    Re: Favorite Pizza House

You can't be serious about Roaring Rapids.  Yes, the location is great but the atmosphere, the experience and especially the Pizza was worlds better back in the day when it was Pietros.

As for Joey's, I'm with you.  Great Pizza, I grew up on that place and I'm serious when I say I don't think they've changed a thing since 1983 including light bulbs and cob-webs.  Seriously though, it's very nostalgic for me and I would venture to say it's definitely some of the best pizza around.  I didn't know about initial day, so thanks for the tip, you can be I'll be taking advantage of that!

I have to give Love to Papa's though, the Springfield Parlor hasn't really changed much since I was a kid either which is great because it has that old Pizza Parlor atmosphere.  Pizza is excellent- Pepperoni Square Deal for $11.99 is really hard to beat, the kids love it there and most importantly, like Joey's you're supporting a local business.

If you've never tried Macaffee's in Harrisburg- I would recommend it.

    Re: Favorite Pizza House

I personally prefer Papa's Pizza in springfield, There pizza is great, they make a mistake they more than take care of it. There alway's out there giving and donating IN ABUNDANCE, for a cause or need. Dan one of the manager's is alway's there to give, help, care, There kindness to thier community make the food even better, plus they send out coupon's every month. I have eaten in these other's as well and a few i wont go back in simply because some of  there manager's are arrogant and i would love to say who but wont, they know who they are. all that being said, for your money the food, service, price, warmth and kindness IT'S PAPA'S for my family and friend's. Thank's Dan at papa's in springfield. Fawn

In Eugene, my favorite is Papa's Pizza. (any of them). But If you ever find yourself in Winchester Bay the pizza at Bedrocks, formerly Ray's, can't be beat.

    Re: Favorite Pizza House

My fav pizza is Pietro's, but since BJ's bought the chain nearest location is Salem.
Ambrosia is excellent & closest to real Italian (thin crust in wood fired oven) I've had around here.
Papa's does a good BBQ chicken.
    Izzy's is ok.
    Round Table is good.
Pizza Schmitza was good but the local franchise closed.
Track Town Springfield is OK, but staff doesn't seem as friendly since they moved to 5th & South A
Putters on Hwy 99 had a very good pepperoni.
    Sy's has a good slice.
