Over these last few years, I've become increasingly horrified by the cost of my Comcast Cable. It's nothing special...just the level above absolute basic....and it's almost 50 bloody bucks a month now!
I'm hoping somebody out there has a real feel for the deals around here, for access. I want to keep stuff like the History channel, the Travel Channel, and such but don't really need stuff like HBO or STARZ.
Any observations, Recommendations?
Hey Badgerrr,,, I have called Comcast when I was on cable, and Direct TV which I have now... I have pitched a fit, begged, reasoned with both and nothing worked... I have tried to get them to offer packages of 10, 20, 30, and so on, of EMPTY channel slots, that WE could then fill with the program channels of OUR choice... They keep saying, to do individual choice packages like that would cost us, the users a fortune... They make some kind of a deal with all the providers to BUNDLE all the programs together into the packages they offer us... What makes me angery, is this, DTV has 188 channels in the package I have, which is similar to what you have with Comcast... Of those 188 channels we use 23 of them, and some of them are about to get edited... GEEEZ I hate paying for stuff I will never use... My last call to DTV on this subject, I was told that the GOV. is about to get involved (bad idea), and make them offer something similar to what I have been suggesting... I asked her, WHY don't you cable and sattelite folks do it on your own, and keep the BLOODY (pun intended) Government out of it... All I got was dead silence....SOOO, (big sigh here) that's been my experience... I feel like the Ram, trying to butt a hole in the dam...
