Hunter, I agree with you totally...

I am sick of these rude people starting with the explosive noise a week or more before the 4th, and it continues for a week or more afterwards... I am sick of the fact that they are using ILLEGAL fireworks... I am tired of the fact that because our MIGHTY police department fines none of them, each year it gets worse. I am sick of needing to dodge burnt out firworks and sparkler wires the next day, so my car doesn't get a flat tire, because these jerks will not clean up after themselves... I am tired of the media boo-hooing over burns, injuries, and now and then a death from fire works, because idiot parents (I use the term "parents" loosely), let children who are too young, handle or have access to these dangerous incindiaries... I don't want my home or anyones for that matter, set afire by these idiots neglegence... OH I could go on, but I think you get the drift!!!

I want to see Springfield do the same thing that Roseburg has done.... But I don't think our council has the backbone to do it...

It's a good thing for the sound sensitive dogs and cats living in the area for sure and will make sleeping better for the rest of the people living in the area also. If the police can keep the narcissistic individuals from setting off their illegal fireworks that would also be a pulse.

I walked down to a neighbors house the other morning at 3:00 am and rang the door bell till he got out of bed, he seemed rather upset, but I invited him out to set off some more of the fire works he drove to Washington to pick up. He said that he'd set some off the night before, I told him that I knew this and that is why he was getting the early wake up call from me then, and to expect more on a random basis, if he doesn't seem to have a problem with interrupting my sleep, I don't think I should have a problem interrupting his, I mean what's fair is fair, right? If people just have to hear all that racket, by all means move to Afghanistan or Iraq. And then I'll save the money that I have to spend on tranquilizers just to keep my dogs from hurting themselves. My right to peace and quite, trumps their right to make an ass of themselves.
