Sticks for legs. Google eyes are $1 a pack at the dollar store. Makin em can keep the kids buzy for a while. What the heck?

This Weekend: What are you doing?

So what are everyone's plans for this weekend?

I'm thinking about going to the LaX Cinco de Mayo Celebration at the Regional Sports Center in Springfield on 32nd Street. I'm guessing there will be good food there. Then maybe head over to the movie theater and catch Ironman.

Tomorrow, I really need to mow my lawn. I'm also working on building a raised garden, using Windsor stones. I moved into a new home last September, and so I've been working on the landscaping. Who knew I'd be so interested in plants. Jerry's is taking all my money. Also it's my brother's birthday on Saturday, and he just put a new patio in his backyard.

I need to work on the yard, but I really want to go on a hike.

Sunday is church, and Sunday evening we are having some friends over for dinner, and possibly some Rockband.

So how about you? What are your plans this weekend?

Mullets

I gotta get this one off my chest.

Here the last few years, one hears in the popular media about how stupid Mullet haircuts are. I'll confess, they aren't the most intelligent hairdo's I've seen; but in a world with *Dreadlocks*...*Bloody Coolio dealybobber haircuts*.....*Mowhawks*.....*Green Hair*. ...*Corn Rows*.....the Mullet looks downright GOOD in comparison.

Am I alone in feeling this way?

Valentine's Day Plans

Anyone have any good plans for Valentine's Day coming up this Wednesday? Any romantics out there willing to let us steal your great ideas? What is your best Valentine's Day memory?

Am I the only guy who feels like if I don't buy dinner/chocolate/diamonds/flowers/write sonnet/ then I'm a loser and obviously don't love my girlfriend? All the women I've been talking to say no, it doesn't matter, but you know come Thursday they are comparing notes.

Favorite Indian Casinos

Seems like Oregon has it's share of Indian Casino's today. I'll bet there's lots of us out there with some opinions about the best and the worst out there. And there's all the tips we can share with each other.

The wife and I are what you might wanna call "grinders" or "low rollers". You probably won't see our pix on the Casino advertising holding the monster $200,000 check, as a result (unfourtunately). We enjoy the Casinos as cheap entertainment. We try to get all the comps possible and not fall in love with hi stakes games. We are always certain to sign up for their "winners club cards".

Some observations on the Casinos we've visited.

Three Rivers: Florence: This place is great for sending you comp dollars in the mail. In fact, it's the best we know in this reguard. They usually send a flyer with coupons good every 2 or 3 weeks. Our coupons usually are for $5 or $10. The values will either be for slot play or resturant credit in One Eyed Jacks. Right now, it's a small Casino and is frequently crowded and smokey. Seemed like the machines were quite tight about 6 months ago, but has gotten better lately. The only table games they have now are variations on Blackjack. They have a free Pop/coffee bar.

The Mill Casino: Coos Bay: This place also sends out coupons in their flyers, though they don't send as many and may well be for less. However, if you ask for a "fun book" at the comp desk they will give you a pamphlet in which they have a coupon good for $3 match play on blackjack. I hate blackjack but will always play my comp. Free Money Yunno! Better choice on Table games. They have roulette, 3 card poker, craps, blackJack, and a few others. Motel rates are good for the quality of the room (if you have a comp card). They need a good free pop/coffee bar, but drinks are availible if you ask a floor person.

Seven Feathers: Canyonville: This place is right on I-5. Lots of incoming traffic as a result. Because of this, methinks, they don't comp as well as most. No coupons in the mail. The wife seems to do well there - me? - not so much. They too have a good representation of table games. All the Mill has plus Let-it-Ride and (I think) Pai-Gow . They have recently expanded and have a fantastic upstairs area for Bingo. Lots of Slots. Only has free pop/coffee up in the Bingo hall.

Chinook Winds: Lincoln City: This is my favorite. This place has a (usually) great buffet upstairs where most folks probably spend most of their comp points. They also have a great price on ocean front hotel rooms for holders of their comp cards. They have free pop/coffee bars both upstairs and down stairs. They have most of the table games Canyonville has, and a health amount of slots. I just seem to do well there and the wife does good too.

Spirit Mountain: Grand Ronde: Fabulous table games. Lots of floor space. Could use more penny machines. Have good free pop/coffee bars. Machines have tightened up lately. Used to have a great reputation, but have been hearing lots of bad stuff about the place lately. Room rates are high and they even charge for their Fun bus. We don't spend much time there.

There's those other ones out there...Klamoya....Kakneeta on the Warm Springs Reservation....Old Camp in Burns but we visit those so infrequently I hesitate to comment much on them.

I WILL say that Old Camp is the only Casino I've seen with a gravel parking lot (and they have a passible free pop/coffee bar for such a small place). They could use more penny machines though. They are NOT a 24 hour operation.

Worst Wedding Gift You Ever Received?

A local realtor wants to set up a way for people to give money for a downpayment on a home. They say it's a way for people to plan for the future, instead of getting junk.

Are a lot of wedding presents junk? I'd love to know what the worst wedding present you've ever received is, or perhaps....given.
