Maybe if they can get Uncle Phil to put in anotheer $10 mill, they can get something going on!!!

Can you say set-up! The Pee Wee Red Skins were setup not to be able to play at the championship at Autzen statuim. Supposedly, we had an ineligible player play in Sunday’s game. But this young man has been playing all season and no other team has said anything about him until Sunday which was the deciding game of who get to go to Autzen. The team mom from the Linn-Benton cowboys, whom we had already played once this season on Sept 16 and she had no complaints then, said he was too old and couldn’t play. The Sheldon rep was standing there and said “no its fine the book is signed off by Pop Warner” so she signed off on the books saying he could play. I know you are thinking how I know this, well because I was standing right there. So the start of the 2^nd quarter into the game the Willamette area rep came over and told us he couldn’t play so we pulled him from the game. From what I have been told they went through the right channels at the beginning of the season because we knew he was 13 to make sure that it was ok but now Pop Warner is going back on this telling us that we didn’t. They are the ones that put him on this team in the first place.

The board members had a meeting tonight, Nov 5, 2007 about the game we played on Sunday. The Cowboys are claiming that the young man made a bunch of touchdown during the time he was on the field and he was a big part of why they lost. The young man touched the ball once during the game and it was at kick off he kicked the ball to the cowboys. If the cowboys had a problem since the last game then why didn’t they go through the proper channels, area rep and board of directors, instead waiting until the game had started? So the board decides that we have to forfeit the game on Sunday and not play for the championship.

Pop Warner claims

Objectives

To encourage and increase youth participation in football, cheerleading and dance.
To ensure a safe and positive playing environment for all participants.
To instill life-long values of teamwork, dedication and a superior work ethic in the classroom and on the playing field.

I’m sorry to say that I haven’t seen these objectives from them at all. I want to know why the kids are being punished for something that Pop Warner ok. And all the other teams we played ok it or they would have said something sooner. I think that this was the only way that the Linn-bent cowboys could win. They sure aren’t teaching their kids anything but bad sportsmanship. I know this because my son told one of the players good game and he just gave him a dirty look and shrugged it off. If my son would have done that he would have got one hell of a tongue lashing from me. Pop Warner boast about Team work how is it that a 90lb kid made that much of a difference.

I know that my son will be devastated about not being able to go to the championship. I know that my son will not be playing for Pop Warner ever again and that I will tell everyone I know that the Pop Warner isn’t worth anyone’s time or energy. My family and I are done with Pop Warner and their politics. I will be pursuing other steps to make sure that this doesn’t go unnoticed.

Oregon Gets a Baseball Team

What do you think about Oregon getting a baseball team? Personally I'm happy, although I don't know when they'll be able to beat the Beavers. It will be interesting to see who they get as head coach, as well as where they will play.

What do you think about the U of O dropping men's wrestling and adding women's competitive cheer to make up for the men's baseball players under Title IX?

New Ducks Basketball Arena

The University of Oregon sports department went on a PR blitz today, with news that Steve Bartko, a former fundraiser, as a senior associate athletic director, as well as displaying a model of the proposed arena on the 2nd floor of the Casanova Center.

So it looks like things are ramping up again.

What do you think about the new arena? Are you happy? Do you think they should stay at The Pit? Do you think the basketball arena will actually happen this time?

Ducks Beat #1 UCLA

Wow what a great game. I had the fortune to be there, and the Ducks really played some solid defense, and won the game without the three point game. Great job guys.

One thing I have noticed this season, that I really like, is that the officials are letting the players play a more agressive game. Not as many small fouls. Let the guys bump into eachother a bit more.

Who goes to the Rose Bowl in a Cal-USC-Oregon 3-way tie?

Let's say USC beats Cal, and Oregon beats USC. Who would go to the Rose Bowl. Here are the official rules from the Pac-10. Can anyone decode them?

b. Multiple-Team Ties.
(1) When three or more teams are tied in Conference play, if one has defeated all others, it shall be the Rose Bowl representative. If that is not the case, a comparison of the tied teams' records against the other tied teams shall be made and the team having the best record against the other tied teams shall be the Rose Bowl representative. If two or more teams are still tied after this comparison, the appropriate two-team or multiple-team tie-breaking procedures shall be repeated among those teams still under consideration.

(2) If more than two teams are still tied after the process in AR 5-2-b-(1) is completed, each remaining tied team's record against the team occupying the highest position in the final regular season standings shall be compared, with the procedure continuing down through the standings until one team gains an advantage.

When arriving at another group of tied teams while comparing records, each team's collective record against the tied teams as a group shall be used.

If at any point in the process the multiple-team tie is reduced to two teams, the two-team tie-breaking procedure shall be applied.

If more than two teams are still tied after comparing their records all the way through the Conference standings, the team among the tied teams with the highest ranking in the final BCS standings shall be the Rose Bowl representative. If a tie remains, the teams most recently earning Rose Bowl or Bowl Championship Series automatic selection shall be eliminated.
