The dangers w/ small breed dogs and vaccinations

Was just curious if all of you out there know that when you have a young small breed dog (mine was a yorkie) that you shouldn't have a vet administer all the vaccination shots at one time because it can potentially kill your pet.....I had gotten my yorkie shots at a vet and 2 days later he was absolutely sick...They swore that he had a virus that was being passed around by dogs.I asked them twice during this 5 day ordeal if they had given him a blood test and they told me that it wasn't needed because they were sure he had a virus...But w/ no blood tests how can a person tell?...Me not knowing much about sicknesses of small breed dogs accepted their answer and paid over 800.00 in veterinary bills just to have to have him put to sleep....After doing my own research on the internet I found that there were several web pages describing every symptom he had as being an allergic reaction from the combination of the rabies shot and the other vaccinations that he was given at the same time..Now I have tried contacting the vet and left several messages stating what I thought in a kind manner and have not been able to get them to even talk to me (besides the receptionist saying she would take a message). Being only a 5 month old pet this dog was part of our family and we are very destroyed over his death. I just wanted to put it out there as a warnuing to everyone that your vet may not know everything there is to know about your pet and please exhaust all of your resources so that you don't end up with the heartbreak that we have and a cold shoulder from your vet when you figure it out for yourself.

No they haven't got back to me yet.....I think pretty much that all they care about is making money.....I will name them after friday if I don't get this sorted out..I'm holding off on that because if they don't work with me I'm going to tell them that I'm going to make their name public on what they did to my dog....I'm pretty sure that they know what they did wrong and are just hoping that I will go away...But I'm not the type of person tojust roll over when it comes to this sort of thing.

Really? I  did not know that. I'm so sorry for your loss. I am hoping to get another small dog, so I will make sure of what the doctors are doing. I have a 8 yr old yorkie of my own an a cat who looks like a white paintball hit him. I am only 13 so hopefully a new puppy won't bring down my grades .Smile
