That annoying promotion you display on lower left screen

I am getting to hate watching your channel at night because of that distracting promo on the screen, it seems to be on for the entire show, or at least as long as I can stand watching the show. I am starting to turn to another channel just so I don't have to watch it, or I put something in front of it so I can watch the show without having to stare at it.

If I wanted to watch a constant ad, I would turn to computer and watch TV on the internet. It becomes a constant commercial, a constant product placement and I am not going to put up with it.

This is not a good development- I would like to know if this is coming down from the network? Is this something we write to the FCC about?

Please ask around and see if other viewers agree with me.

Those promotions that pop up in the lower left corner is called a "snipe".  I'm sorry that it is bothering your tv enjoyment.  Unfortunately, that snipe is being sent down by NBC, and we do not have control over that locally.

We can pass your complaint onto NBC.

    Thanks for the correct terminology.

Tell NBC I just turn the channel and watch reruns elsewhere.

I think a few seconds I can endure. I don't seem to see it on ABC, CBS, or Fox.

    Buzz..

For some TV's that show closed captioning (especially older sets that do not have a separate section at the bottom of the screen), these 'snipes' also cover over some of the words.  Or when a show adds words to the bottom of the screens when the people on the tv show aren't talking loud enough, those words also are covered over with the ad information.  That IS a little annoying sometimes.

I see it on virtually all of the big 4 networks (NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX) though prime time seems to be the worst time for it.  Most of these ads seem to pop-up just as the show is returning from a commerical.  Some are random throughout the shows.  And most of what I see are ads for OTHER shows that the network is trying to push attendance up on.

I do see promos on other networks- however, NBC has it planted in the corner for the entire show (or until I can't stand it no more and turn the channel).

    Maybe it's an FCC issue.

I agree with you. The logos on the screen are very irritating. Since I prefer not to be reminded of who is irritating me, I don't watch the programs. This in turn would spare me from watching the advertisements that these channels present. In other words, if I was the sponsors paying the channels to run my ads, IRRITATING would not be the words used to describe the channel's stupidity and sturbborness.

I think the problem you may be having is with DirecTV.  We have been working with DirecTV on the signal issues subscribers are experiencing.  DirecTV is replacing one of their digital receivers, and we have been told that this should clear up the issues.
