    Climate Momentum Shifting

This is a lengthy article with several hot links... It is quite revealing about the climate issue, and how real science is is being covered up and omited or debunked, from the public forum (Media), for the sake of of keeping us on a emotional roller coaster, and I think, in a state of fear... Just follow the money ... I have the first paragraph here to start you out, and the hot link to the main article just below... Enjoy discussing this among yourselves...

Climate Momentum Shifting: Prominent Scientists Reverse Belief in Man-made Global Warming - Now Skeptics

Growing Number of Scientists Convert to Skeptics After Reviewing New Research

Following the U.S. Senate's vote today on a global warming measure (see today's AP article: Senate Defeats Climate Change Measure,) it is an opportune time to examine the recent and quite remarkable momentum shift taking place in climate science. Many former believers in catastrophic man-made global warming have recently reversed themselves and are now climate skeptics.  The names included below are just a sampling of the prominent scientists who have spoken out recently to oppose former Vice President Al Gore, the United Nations, and the media driven “consensus” on man-made global warming.

    Re: Climate Momentum Shifting

This is a belated reply (I'm new here), but Inhofe & Morano are apparently known for their nonsense and partial-truths on global climate change, like those addressed here (and in this more realistic overview of the issue). As for the letter from 60 contrarian scientists to Canada's Prime Minister, to quote David Roberts at Gristmill:

"The letter was a vapid collection of myths; among those 60 scientists were long-time skeptics, known liars, and at least one guy who was tricked into signing. A few weeks later, 90 scientists -- who unlike the original 60 were Canadian and active in climate research -- wrote a letter of their own, denouncing the first. The moral: in a world with tens of thousands of PhDs, you can find at least 60 to sign anything."

So more important is how many supposed converts are climatologists, what fraction of the scientific community do they represent, and do their claims have any merit? I think the "roller coaster" on this issue is powered by certain fossil fuel interests (including some of Inhofe's biggest campaign contributors, it would seem).

    LoL; ...much like Algore?!

One things for absolute sure, the whole "Global Warming/Climate Change" song and dance is a most fertile ground for Charlatans.  (Tailor made for them, in fact)

For years on end, this subject has had the distict smell to it of Media Conspiracy.  What media can chose to tell us ...or not tell us, is astounding.

The media topic it seems most like, in the way of selected reporting, was the deification of jailed Communist Terrorist Nelson Mandela.

An ascendant man, living in a degenerate age, MUST, by definition, live in contradistinction to his times.

How green was my happy meal

Conspiracy you say. Here is something you won’t read or hear about any place else.  Al Gore’s father, back when he was in he government, had a plan to keep North Korea from invading South Korea. The plan was to explode enough nuclear bombs in the DMZ between the two countries that troops would die from radiation before they could cross.

Global warming and why the common folk should “cut back” on CO2 emissions  Consider that we recycle our plastics, truck them to centers, clean and shred them. Put it in a gigantic ocean ship, created with a gigantic CO2 footprint, go to China, long CO2 intensive voyage and oil leaking/dumping into ocean along the way. In China it is processed by slave/child labor into “toys” to be shipped back to U. S. A. to be put into MChappy meals for instance, where it is played with for 2.3 min. then forgotten. Big CO2 investment for crappy unwanted toy.

I wonder why close-minded right-wing extremists are so into fighting and insulting anyone who brings up the realistic possibility that all this global warming badness is actually real.

What the *** is wrong with intelligently discussing the issue?

"Faux News, the Jesus freaks, and the oil companies tell me it's hogwash, so it must be!"

The fact is, the environment IS significantly changing. The bulk of legitimate scientific studies  indicate that while the Earth has a natural ebb and flow climate, this process is being "helped" significantly by mankind and its pollution. This is just plain common sense when you consider the number of people, cars, factories, etc.

    Re: Climate Momentum Shifting

Does anyone see something suspect that they take temperature readings at airports? You've been there, big expanses of concrete and asphalt, frequented by big jets. Do you think that might skew the data?

By the way typing "is" in caps, "IS", isn't really a proof of global warming.

The real debate should not just be global warming or not but are the people currently pushing giving themselves Billions of tax dollars the best people to have in charge?

    Re: Climate Momentum Shifting

The one bit of data that I'm always looking for - when reading about 'global warming', and the resultant melting of the polar icecaps, and the resultant rise of the ocean's water level - is how much the sea level has risen, already. This is a very basic bit of info - it should be the first thing mentioned - yet I have not yet seen it. How hard is it to call some Dutch guy, that takes care of their dikes, and ask him, " How much has the sea level risen in the last twenty years?" I've seen pictures that are meant to prove that the sea level is rising, but they are easily attributable to normal erosion.

things to notice: around the edges of the land masses is the old submerged coastlines. The line in the upper left corner is where lake mizzola(might be spelled differently) scoured the western states and swept the ocean bottom to hardpan. Western oregon and scab lands are result of 10,000 year old flood from glacier lake ice dam failure. Just normal earth stuff. Try not to make long term predictions on short term data. 200 years does not yeild good climate datam points.
