    KidSport & Entertainment Coupon books

I swear by them things (and occasionally at them).  I have been doing these sort of coupons since the Gourmet Club daze.  For us, they really pay off big time.  Actually, if we look at just one G I Joe coupon I use every year to get work boots - the entertainment club pays for itself in that one purchase.

Let's use this thread as a place to compare our experiances with the various merchant/coupons we use.  Some of these are real deals!  Some are not worth mentioning.  A number of places are just flat out of business (don't ya hate driving out to an unfamiliar location only to find your restaurant closed down nearly 2 years ago?!)

Chapala is in Entertainment.  That's one I've NEVER let expire.  Never will; if I can help it.

Let see, in the Kidsport book the food locations I can recommend is:

    Buddy's Diner

    Cold Stone Creamery

    El Rey Mexican

    Izzy's

    Johnny Ocean's - OK

    Kowloon - for sure!

    Mission Mexican - for sure!

Pizza Hut - Pasta one is quite good

    Roaring Rapids

    Round Table

    Skippers - not bad

    TCBY

Big River Grill didn't impress me

What do YOU recommend or warn us away from?

Entertainment Book is a bigger Beast.  I may miss a few things, first off, but lemme start with some recommendations.

Chili's (they got 2 appetizers and one $5 off right before the index)

Quiznos (those coupons are even farther ahead of the index ....easy to miss)

    Chapala ...of course

    Deb's is good

    Eugene Mongolian Grill

Golden Orient....(Boy Howdy!...Let Gramma Lee set you up!)

    J. Ocean's ...OK

    Mission Mexican

    Track Town Pizza

Ye Old Pancake House....the hours are weird, but if it's handy for you - it's good

    Prime Time Sports Bar

    Village Inn Resturant

    Baja Fresh

    _________________________________________________________

    Warning Zone:

O bar & grill probably not worth the time

O'Donnel Irish pub....horrible service when we were there.  Never served.  Walked out.

Snappy Cafe.... good food, but, horrible service and now outta business.

That's good for a start.  Howz it look to you?

Local 4 Less on KMTR.com has good food deals.  I know most of the Entertainment book is buy 1 get 1 free.  So if you are going by yourself you might find the Local 4 Less deals advantagious.

Empire Buffet-Includes an all you can eat Sushi Bar
Hillside Grill- Great Steakhouse in Coburg
Noho's- Hawaiian Style food, a lot more choices then Hawaiian Time.
Papa Johns-Great Pizza if you just want quick take out
    Pizza Pete's- I haven't been here yet
    Village Green- Located in
    Cottage Grove

As far as the Entertainment Book goes. I love Toshi's Ramen.  Great asian style noodle soups.

Re: KidSport & Entertainment Coupon books

I've haven't gotten any of these cards yet, but it's a heck of an idea.  Hope more places take up doing this.  Have often thought that this would be great advertizing.  And at the same time, create great deals for the purchaser.  This way, a guy could give a $20 gift card to someone for $10.  And like buzz sez, if you were dining alone, it would be possible to get half off; as opposed to the 2fers which requires 2 meals to be purchased.

We may very well get an Empire Grill and a Noho's.  I've eaten at Empire before and was impressed.  Noho's is close to where my wife works and would be quite handy.  We'd like to try it.

The big thing with these offers would be taking delivery of them.  If mailed singly the postage eats into ones savings.  But if a number are mailed at a time or picked up at the station, this situation can be greatly improved.

I just wish a guy wasn't limited to one per customer.
