The "newest" postings on some of the forums date back to last October.  The "News of the Day" is well over 24hours old. You asked us about Iraq before the president's speech, nothing after.  Every school in the county is closed, but nothing current in the weather section.  I guess I'm expecting leadership from KMTR, and I'm surprised it's not here

I think you may be missing the point of Your Corner.  The reason that some of the "newest" postings date back to last October, or the News of the Day discussion is over 24 hours old, or the fact that nobody is talking about school closures in the weather section, is that YOU (as you in you all) aren't posting.

These forums are really going to ultimately become what you the community wants them to become.  The staff here at KMTR will be updating news stories, weather and sports stories, in the news sections of KMTR.com.  But it's your job to talk about those stories here.

If there is something you want to discuss, go ahead and create a topic.

Now part of my job here at KMTR is to attract new members to the forums so that we all more people to talk to (nothing like talking to myself in an empty room).  So I will create a new topic in one of the Forum sections (many times News of the Day) and then have them push people there from inside the actual television news cast.  That doesn't mean you can't make a new post on a different topic.

I hope that answers your question.  Is there something you think I could do better?  Let me know, I'm always open to suggestions.

I am not at all sure the problem is yours. You're right, this is "our" corner.  It may simply be that there aren't enough of us yet.  There's a bit of a hollow echo in here right now.  The only thing I would suggest is that you guys are the hosts, even if it is our corner, and a bit more prompting might help get things going.  Offer encouragement, respond to first-time posters if no one else engages them. This sounds horribly ungrateful. I do really appreciate that you have gone to the trouble of making this space available to the community.  I'm trying to do my part and should have done a much better job of asking for more input from you without the blame-tag. How is it put these days, "my bad".
