Local business owners found the man bleeding about the head, in and out of consciousness. The business owners called Springfield Police and asked for an ambulance for the man. The police and ambulance arrived after an unbelievable 56 minute response time. When the police arrived they first recommended, not a hospital visit, but transport to sober living facility. The local business owners were outraged that the police did not offer the man medical attention and finally convinced the police offer to take the man for medical evaluation and stitches for his wounds. Local residents and business owners are deeply disturbed at the time it took for the authorities to respond and also disturbed about how the homeless man was treated by the responding officers.

Sharis Coupons

Way back when Carrows Restaurant went out in Springfield, it left a real lacunae in this towns dining scene. For decades it had been the go-to location for 24 hour sit-down and linger food. Without it, something was just wrong as there was nothing really like it to take it's place. At long last came Sharis; out on Pioneer Parkway (which is close enough to call). Things had been put somewhat to right.

The food there compares favorably and the wait staff has largely been quite good in my experiance. It's kept clean and appears to be well run. But there is one issue with this Sharis (and probably all of them) that should be mentioned. For the most part, Sharis coupons are a trap.

Over this last year, I have tried to cash in perhaps 8 coupons. Have only succeeded about half the time. It seems there is always some little exclusion that will catch you, if ever try to use these in good faith. On one occasion, I recall there was a exclusion day not even printed on my coupon - but a different coupon listed it and the waitress was kind enough to save me before I committed to using the coupon. Another way they get you - if you order an item on special - they refuse to charge regular price on the special and take your coupon (like just about everybody else will do). They will allow you to "save" the 25c special price, but shaft you out of, say, a $8 coupon savings because of it.

Avoid coupons here, and if you must try, remember that your Waitress is your lawyer. Make sure she knows what you are trying to do with that coupon ,right up front, before the order goes out. Don't just leave the coupon on the table and trust she sees it. That's how I got shafted the last time.

It appears that the Sharis coupon program is predicated on a spin of the old car lot practice of bait & switch. Get you in with the loss leader. Get your order made in good faith. Then, once committed, will spring an exclusion on you and insist on following the underhanded rules. Remember, at the car lot, you somehow never had a chance to buy the loss leader automobile - it was always already sold somehow and they wouldn't work the same deal for you with a similar model. "That's the rules - sorry. Now lets look at that powder blue sweetie right here....."

Sure is a black mark for such an otherwise fine establishment. It's rather sad, actually. I don't blame anyone locally for this. It has all the appearance of something cooked up by the corporate Jr G men in Sharis board room. If anyone with any influence with this place chances to see my little note here; can I urge you to drop the coupon program entirely, if this is the way you must run it? Take that funding and give better in store specials instead. This bait & shaft program is just buying your establishment a lot of, otherwise, undeserved ill will.

unit seeks sponsors for wreath-laying salute to
(Eugene, OR) –
Members of the Civil Air Patrol Mahlon Sweet Composite Squadron would like to
invite the public to sponsor remembrance wreaths that we will place on the
graves of veterans at Willamette National Cemetery on Dec. 12 to honor those
who served our country as well as current military members. Sponsors can even
designate where the wreaths will be placed in the cemetery. The squadron’s
efforts coincide with tributes occurring simultaneously across the nation
during Wreaths Across America observances. We are also collecting donations to
purchase more wreaths.

As a key partner in
Wreaths Across America for three Decembers now, the Civil Air Patrol has adorned
memorials and veterans’ graves with evergreen wreaths to make sure the
sacrifices of our nation’s soldiers are not forgotten.

Last year, members of the
public sponsored placement of more than 100,000 wreaths on veterans’ graves
across the U.S., an increase of nearly 70,000 wreaths from 2007. These wreaths
will be placed in ceremonies at cemeteries in all 50 states. Worcester Wreath
Co. donated more than 17,000 wreaths for the remembrances, 10,000 of which will
be placed at Arlington National Cemetery. CAP units lead almost half of 372
observances and participated with other color and honor guards at many
additional locations, including Arlington National Cemetery.

For more information on

Wreaths Across America
began in 2006 as an offshoot of the Arlington National Cemetery wreath project,
which was started in 1992 with the annual placement of wreaths donated by
Worcester Wreath Co. Wreaths Across America ceremonies were conducted largely
by CAP wings and squadrons with the help of veterans’ organizations; private
citizens; the Maine State Society of Washington, D.C., which annually assists
with the laying of wreaths at Arlington; and the Patriot Guard Riders. Visit www.wreathsacrossamerica.org

Civil Air Patrol, the
official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force, is a nonprofit organization with more
than 56,000 members nationwide. CAP performs 90 percent of continental U.S.
inland search and rescue missions as tasked by the Air Force Rescue
Coordination Center and was credited by the AFRCC with saving 91 lives in
fiscal year 2008. Its volunteers also perform homeland security, disaster
relief and counter-drug missions at the request of federal, state and local agencies.
The members play a leading role in aerospace education and serve as mentors to
the more than 22,000 young people currently participating in CAP cadet
programs. CAP has been performing missions for America for more than 67 years.

A
background story to start. Few years ago, my wife encountered a
desperate fellow alongside the road. She could see his rig was starting
to burn under the hood, and the guy was getting a little frantic. But I
was sure to buy a brand new extinguisher for her rig, when we bought
the car. She retrieved the tool from it's special place and handed it
to the happy victim. He pulled the pin, pointed and ......NOTHING.....
To keep a long story from getting even longer. The guy lost his car.
I took care that we would have that unused extinguisher (and paid the
money) for just such things - but when we needed it......nothin'!!!!

There's the old saw, "Oh
you need to relentlessly check your fire extinguisher every day" or
"change them out every other week" or "spend half your life in prayer
that it will work when you need it." But we all know the only thing
this "advice" creates is an excuse for someone to say "I told you so"
when failure occurs, cause in the real world this stuff won't happen.

What we need is a viable fire fighting tool that works when we need it.
Even if it is not nearly as effective as a functioning fire
extinguisher (which we won't have in all likelyhood). It would be REAL
nice if compressed air was NOT involved (unless we pump up in the field)

In
the Old Daze there were little glass balls filled with Carbon
Tetracloride or little pump up squirt extinguishers loaded with the
aforementioned. Is the best thing we can do today carrying a box of
baking soda?

Relax, You Got A Friend

I just got
through with a conversation with one of my favorite people and I feel
better now (not that I was having any problems:). Some people are like
that, they just kinda make your day if you know what I mean. Those are
valuable people in my book. Nice to be around.

You ever notice how with some people you can just be yourself?. I
like that. Not having to qualify or justify, that’s what I’m talking
about. That’s actually a pretty big deal if you think about it. Which I
did, think about it, that is. What I came up with is this, I like
talking with this person. That’s because we are a lot alike. I
understand this person’s feelings. They make me laugh because I totally
understand where they’re coming from. I get it, because I have been
there done or said that, and it’s totally relatable to me. These kind
of relationships are fun because, hey, I realize I’m not alone. Someone
else is actually as crazy as me. Bottom line, I think I can trust this
person, and quite frankly, that weighs in heavy with me. And you know
what else? God likes it when we trust, especially when we trust Him.

Jesus, now there’s somebody you can trust. You can go to Him with
all your hurts and shortcomings. I mean He relates, He totally
understands, everything. You can relax and be yourself around Jesus,
it’s not like He doesn’t already know anyway. I’m somewhat amazed He
knows everything about me and still loves me and wants to hang out. You
can be yourself with Jesus. He is right there all the time wanting to
talk. He’ll listen to all my complaints without being critical. And, He
is never moody. He must be God. Besides all that, all of the things He
tells me really make a lot of sense. When it comes to making me feel
good and cheering me up, He’s the one. He makes me laugh then He makes
me cry (in a good way). Whoever wrote that old hymn “What a friend we
have in Jesus” really knew what they were talking about.

You can find more writings by Pastor Steve Miller of New Song Christian Fellowship at: http://newsongspringfield.wordpress.com/
New Song is a multi-generational church. Like, the answers to those nagging questions we all have from time to time? Everyone has questions. And when it comes to God, boy do we have questions. Here’s one I hear from time to time, “why does so and so get all the blessings? when’s it my turn?” When I hear that it almost can seem like they’re saying, “Boy, that God, He’s sure unfair“……….. Watch it now, God is not only fair, He’s just. What makes anyone think they deserve anything here? Well, for one our culture tells us we deserve it all, and like now! Some people believe just existing these days comes with all kinds of entitlements. I exist so I deserve. Wake up call, you exist yes, you deserve possibly, but what you deserve may not be what you think.

If I could be so bold as to say, nobody deserves anything except… (well I won’t say it cause I don’t want to get in trouble). But it starts with an h and ends with an ell. Hey lighten up, I was just kidding about you. I know, I know, you don’t deserve it, but I sure do. Why? just because I’m not worthy that’s all. Oh, and that’s what the Bible says all over the place. If I was so together I wouldn’t need a Savior. “But you’re saved now Steve.” Yes, and I’m as blessed as anyone could possibly be because of it.

Hasn’t God already blessed our socks off? Didn’t He (”while we were yet sinners”) come down here and take a beating and hang on the cross until dead? All this just for you and I. If anything isn’t fair, that’s it. Yet He did it gladly and would do it again. What a mighty awesome God we serve! If anyone needs to be blessed it’s Him. He deserves it not me. What did I ever do anyway, except put Him on the cross with my sins. I mean really, when are we (the church) going to get over ourselves? I guess I’m venting a little today, well maybe a lot, okay, a whole lot. But my lands (used to hear my Grandmother say that), aren’t we the ones who have already been given (free of charge) forgiveness and mercy and grace and love and eternal life and an inheritance, and, and,……….So why do we not always show our thankfulness? Well, it’s the same reason the nation of Israel didn’t rejoice for more than a few days after being supernaturally delivered out of Egypt. It’s called humanity, and it will always whine when it doesn’t get its way.

Since I’m possibly already just a little bit in trouble here, I’ll add this. The Bible doesn’t say battle your flesh, but crucify your flesh. Romans 13:14 “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.” Galatians 5:24-25 “And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” That means to walk in the power and by the leading of the Holy Spirit. Yes, we can or it wouldn’t say it. And after all, this is exactly what blesses God, who will always by nature return what we give to Him. He returns it pressed down, shaken together, and running over. Hey, that might just be the answer to the original question: “When do I get blessed?”

You can find more writings by Pastor Steve Miller of New Song Christian Fellowship at: http://newsongspringfield.wordpress.com/
New Song is a multi-generational church. But I’m sure if you ever got in a wreck you would be thanking God for a helmet and the law that made you wear it. In fact all that leather stuff they wear nowadays is a good idea.

When I was 17, I had an “easy rider” style Triumph motorcycle. I loved to ride that bike, (when it would start). One hot August evening in Santa Monica, I was cruising down the boulevard on my motorcycle. I loved the wind in my face and my hair was blowin’ in the breeze. All I had on was a pair of paisley trunks and flip flops. I was feeling free and easy not a care in the world. When out of no where this guy cuts me off and I barely got around him. I just missed a fire hydrant and rode the curb for about 100 feet or so. It was absolutely crazy. It was only the grace of God I didn’t fall and totally crash and burn. After I thought about it for a few minutes, I turned the bike around and rode it to my Dad’s and immediately put a for sale sign on it. I never rode that motorcycle again.

Like a spiritual mother, the Apostle Paul tells us to make sure we put on a helmet before we go out. He says put on all the protective gear God has given us before we go out cruising for the day. He says this as a warning because the Devil is driving around out there. He’s just looking to cut somebody off, and ruin their day. When you least expect it, he’ll come out of no where and aim right at you. One minute you’re cruising along enjoying the scenery, then bam, your face is skidding across the asphalt of accusations, insults and circumstances. This is not the time to wish for a helmet. And you certainly can’t turn your life around and put a for sale sign on it.

Have you ever heard anyone say; “If only he had been wearing a helmet”? I have, right after my brother wrecked on his motorcycle after a van cut him off. He wasn’t as fortunate as me. He broke his jaw in three places and knocked out half his teeth. Hind sight is always 20/20.

God knows what’s coming around the next corner. If he says put on the whole armor of God, guess what? I’m putting on the whole armor. I like how God gives us everything we need to stay protected out there. When we put on all of God’s protective gear we can crash like Evil Knievil and get up and keep going. Remember being prepared is not just a Boy Scout Motto. Life can be dangerous, wear your helmet!

“Therefore put on the whole armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground” Ephesians 6:13

You can find more writings by Pastor Steve Miller of New Song Christian Fellowship at: http://newsongspringfield.wordpress.com/
New Song is a multi-generational church.

Nobody, and I
mean nobody really knows what’s coming down the pike in the area of the
economy. You may as well flip a coin. Speaking of flipping, I was
flipping through the channels the other day and started watching a
panel of “experts” spouting off their opinions on this very subject,
the economy. I thought, maybe this will bring a little light to the end
of this seemingly dark tunnel of doom and gloom that the media keeps
jamming down our throats. I also thought, how did this 20 year old get
to be an expert anyway. Guess what? Get out some more coins because
these talking heads all agreed on one thing and one thing only, their
opinion was the correct opinion, and none of them agreed on the same
one. What a waste of a good hour. Glad I had a couple of extra strong
black cups of Joyce’s premiere blend to keep me awake, along with my
dog’s incessant demands for a belly rub. Who believes this stuff
anyway? After focusing on the host’s head scratching it appeared he was
flinching with their answers too. How can four opinions be so far from
each other when they are looking at the same information? Again I’m
thinking just give me the bottom line; are we in a recession,
depression, recovery, or a dream?

This is one of the many reasons I like being a Christian. I do not
need a panel of experts to tell me their professional opinion. I do not
have to figure it out or worry about it. God’s Word makes sense and is
not hard to figure out. If the Bible says it, you can take it to the
bank. Sweet! You mean I only have to log on to God’s Word and the
answer is there? Well, something like that. The answer is in the Bible,
along with the answers to just about anything you can think of. God
does have the answers, plain and simple.

If God was on a financial advice panel he would allow the experts to
ramble on before saying a thing. Then with a quite, yet firm, calming
way he might simply say;

“The world’s economy, let’s see, yes, it will continue to exist for
a little while longer. Just don’t put your life into it, it is passing
away soon. Hey, not to worry! I have a sure bet. Take everything you
have and invest it with me and I will take care of it. I will put it
where moth and rust can not destroy and thieves can not get to. The
return on your investment is so good it will set you up for eternity.
Now this may seem to good to be true, a get rich quick scheme. I’m
telling you trust in me, don’t lean on your own understanding. This is
a sure thing. If you don’t believe me just look at my track record.
Which of these panel members ever rose from the dead?”

“Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a little oil” (2 Kings 4:2).

Here in this Old Testament story we find a widow in desperate need.
Talk about losing it all, here is a women in risk of losing even her
children to her late husband’s creditors. That’s like having Visa come
take your kids. With no hope left, and no where else to turn, she
called on her husband’s past relationship to the prophet Elisha and
looked to him for help.

Elisha first asked the widow what she had in her house. What? She
asks for help and he sends her home? Sometimes what we need is right
under our nose. Before asking others for help quite possibly selling a
TV, extra car, or some household or personal item may be the first
step. No matter how small an item may seem God can move mightily
through it. This was the case with the widow.

The widow informs Elisha that she had nothing at home but a little
oil. Although it didn’t seem like it was even worth mentioning, it was
enough. In this case, the little she had in the oil department was
going to be enough for a miraculous move of God’s provision. Elisha
tells her to go and borrow lots of jars from her neighbors and begin
pouring the oil she has into them. She would then be able to sell the
oil and pay off her debt. Now, my response may have been more along the
lines of, “do what?” But this little women does exactly what the
prophet says and everything works out. Who would have guessed the small
amount of oil miraculously multiplied until all the jars were full.

This may sound a little greedy, but have you ever wondered what
would have happened if she would have gotten more jars. We will never
know for sure, but my guess is all the jars would be filled no matter
how many were collected. In God’s economy there is never a lack of oil,
just jars.

It turns out that the widow’s obedience to the prophet’s words
actually became her expression of faith in God. She took the little bit
that she had and put it in God’s hands by doing what Elisha said.
Notice that God didn’t provide her with the money out of nothing, nor
did he change the minds of the creditors, both of which he could have
done. She participated in the miracle. While what she did certainly did
not cause the multiplication of the oil, God called her to be part of
the solution. Just imagine what great miracle God could do with all
that we have if we would put it into God’s hands.

Let’s not draw the conclusion that what this is saying is things
will work out according to our own effort. This is not one of those
motivational stories convincing us that we can do anything we set our
minds to. Naturally speaking the widow was in big trouble. Her little
bit of oil and whatever business smarts she had would not save the day.
It was God that worked things out through Elisha’s words and the
miracle.

As we struggle in whatever our needs might be, whether they be of a
material nature like that of the widow’s situation, or a health need, a
spiritual need, or a relational need, let us offer to God whatever
little we have and trust Him to take care of the rest. I like the fact
that God truly is recession proof.

You can find more writings by Pastor Steve Miller of New Song Christian Fellowship at: http://newsongspringfield.wordpress.com/

New Song is a multi-generational church. places these days just seem to be flooded with all sorts fake
merchandise. Just last week while in Mexico, I was offered name brand
sunglasses and watches for incredible prices. Of course on closer
inspection, these products were found not to be as Coca Cola says, “the
real thing”. None the less, there is a huge market for these “knock
off” products. In fact, we see them here in the states just as much as
in Mexico. This is because so many people are happy to have items of
clothing, movies, CD’s etc that are cheap, pirated versions rather than
the real thing. Companies spend billions of dollars trying to keep
their products from being ripped off, copied and pirated. Guess who
pays the price for these companies extra costs?

The deception that’s out there doesn’t just stop with products.
“Knock off” Christianity is being offered today as well. The truth is
people are out there offering an imitation gospel, a gospel light, a
watered down version. The fact that this is happening should not
surprise any of us since the Bible warns of such things increasing in
the “last days”. The early church in Galatia had somehow been deceived
and the apostle Paul addresses this in the third chapter of his letter
to the church. He wrote; ” I am astonished that you are so quickly
deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning
to a different gospel” What was in this different changed gospel that
would attract them to desert the real thing?

As far as products go, why would people buy imitations when the real
product lasts longer and works and looks better? I come up with two
reasons, the obvious is the price. The second is people want the look.
They want the appearance of the real thing without the cost. Why pay
the price when we can have the appearance of the genuine. This is true
with anything including Christianity. Some people want the look without
the cost. A cheaper version that appears real but in actuality is fake.
Like most “knock offs” with closer inspection you can see it’s not the
real thing.

One of the best ways to tell a forgery is to compare it side by side
with the genuine. When you compare the true gospel with the imitation
there’s no comparison. The true gospel has something that nobody can
copy and that’s power. The true gospel as the Apostle Paul says “is the
power of God”(Rm.1:16). You see that power manifested in one distinct
area in the believer, and that’s a changed life. Don’t settle for a
cheap imitation that promises you power but cannot produce. There is
only one true gospel, and the name brand is Jesus Christ. This gospel
will last for eternity, it will not wear out and when you use it
properly it will cause you to look good all the time. This gospel like
all name brands is expensive. It will cost you your life. Although it’s
expensive you will be glad you paid the price.

Since when is it the 4J School District Charter to indoctrinate Students into the subject of "Transgendered" "Cross Dressing" ? Let's just pretend for a moment I am neutral on the subject (which of course I am not), and I want to make the argument that it is not in the 4J School District Charter to be influencing social behavior and attitudes, They are to be teaching facts, (and this is of course ignoring the lies they currently present as facts).

Is 2+2 =4 and The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over The Lazy Dog, not exciting or "progressive” enough for these people ? High School illiteracy rates are at record levels and drug abuse in the late teen early twenty something age range in this God Forsaken County are at record levels. Has anybody asked these idiots that run the 4J School District why this is ? Maybe it is because kids are graduating with little to no confidence that comes from an education, they have no clue that they possess the skills to be a Doctor, Scientist an Engineer or some other career that can actually make a contribution to our society in a meaningful way, instead they are indoctrinated into "accepting" “everyone as they are”. And who is kidding who, who cares if they don't accept people as they are. I don't receive low life drug addicts, child molesters, or sexual deviants into my circle of friends either.

This County is finished - Our major employers are leaving the area, State, County and City budgets are falling as hard as the stock market, and we have only seen the beginning of the trials to come (wait until the 4 trillion dollar deficits begin to come home to roost) and in the meantime guess what George Russell and his merry band of "Educators" are teaching the next generation? But how to "accept" perverts as social equals.

Think your pension and Golden Parachute is etched in stone George ? You and your cronies gotta another thing comin !

Improved KMTR.com Search

I wanted to let you all know that we have just launched improved site search for KMTR.com! Quality is pretty high. Compared to Subway (the standard bearer of the industry) the food is a bit more expensive, but you do get that extra quality for the money. If one is in the mood for a truely good Sub, the franchise can set you up most anywhere.

Today we had a coupon and wanted to grab a couple quick sandwiches. "Let's go up to the Thurston one". So we came in from the West on Main street. But as I had never been to store #10871 was blissfully unaware that actually getting a vehicle to the location would be such a challenge. Twixt cement barriers on the street and a small lawn planted in front of the resturant; there is no front access. We drove past, intending to turn around in a parking lot - get back on main - turn at 7/11 and attempt to explore a back alley way in. But once in the neighbors parking lot, it looked like we could pioneer our way to the rear without Main Street. After a little exploration, we found ourselves looking at a small parking area in the back. Yup we made it and got our sandwiches (which were quite good). We were almost the only customers. I was not surprised. When it's this hard for customers to actually get to an establishment, it doesn't bode well for business. Who ever laid out the parking/access situation for Thurston Quiznos clearly wants this place to fail. An employee advised me that the owners were going to pull out after the City put in the barrier on the street but were assured it would be removed. So they stayed. Of course, the barrier is still there.

(In short, if coming in to this business from the west, turn left before 7/11 and work your way in from the back)

Valley River Center: A haven for Thieves and Hoodlums, Bye Bye Gottschalks !!!

I find it quite ironic that just four days after sending this letter, one of the Mall's "Anchor Stores" is going BK...

FYI: Sports Authority's days are most likely numbered as well, they will be having severe problems before the end of 2009, and it would not surprise me to see Macy's begin to close locations as well.

To Whom It May Concern,

On Monday March 23 2009, at approximately 12pm, I parked and locked my bicycle in the racks with a 3/8 inch cable lock near the West entrance (near Gottschalks) of the Mall. I entered the store, went directly to Sports Authority to look at some portable basketball equipment I was interested in, was in the mall for approximately 20 minutes, and upon leaving I discovered my bicycle was stolen.

Needless to say I was shocked that this could occur in such a short period of time, and upon further consideration I have several questions.

1. Why is there no security surveillance equipment or signs in the area?

2. Why is there no signs posted alerting customers of the potential dangers ?

Valley River Center is obviously being “cased” by thieves, and I refuse to believe this to be an isolated incident. I also do not believe it to be a quantum leap for me to assume Mall Management fears that by alerting customers and/or installing security cameras and/or signs warning thieves, that this would destroy or jeopardize the false image the mall has portrayed as being a “family friendly environment“ into what it really is, which is a haven for thieves and hoodlums that prey on legitimate consumers.

In case you hadn’t noticed “American Consumerism” is in a dire situation at present and the days of “shopping till you drop” are over. Paying customers just may be a bit more of a valuable commodity in the future and you can rest assured Valley River Center or its merchants will not receive another penny from my household.

Regards,

Thank you for all you do and keep up the good work.

Thank you for writing this. I agree, and I wish them well.

A very well educated woman, who is also obviously quite mentally ill, landed here in Eugene a few years ago and set about spreading as much misery as possible. She spends her disability income pestering public officials of every variety: from football coach to university president, city mayor to DA, sheriff to city council member or city attorney or whomever. They're all fair game to her, no matter how much tripe this woman has to invent. It's terribly sad, and the public officials have learned to just ignore her, but I suspect she still hurts plenty of people who haven't learned about her and the way she interacts with the world.

I suspect this woman is the principal antagonist on the Ryan Salisbury story, not the people who actually knew and loved Ryan. The family was involved in that investigation from beginning to end and had nothing but kind things to say about the way the DA and the police investigated the tragedy... The RG reported the father's flattering description of the way the whole thing was managed. This ill woman obviously has no idea what she's talking about: no personal knowledge, no relevant expertise, no research, nothing but misery to share. I don't even think she lived here back then, but she makes a point of injecting herself into every painful incident she can find. No doubt we'll hear from her on the west Eugene fatal car accident that killed four. I've seen her recorded at at least two televised government meetings (City Council?), and she's lecturing the world about something, and she's always rude, inappropriate and overtly disrespectful. As somebody else said, she's like an angry Harpo Marx, and she feeds on the misery of others. On top of everything else she's now claiming to be a Diane Downs expert and claiming Downs is innocent. Before that she was saying awful things about Kitty Piercy -- just about the kindest woman on the planet. Apparently this woman is also violent, as I read she was convicted of assaulting another woman recently. It's terribly sad, really -- another good argument for improved mental health funding, as she probably wouldn't be so unpleasant, or so violent, if she was properly medicated.

Anyway, outonalimb, thanks for putting that old incident in the proper light.

Roller Skating Exhibition!

Roller Skating Exhibition and Papa's Pizza fundraiser. The mother has told everyone involved in the case as follows: the case worker, intake worker, the supervisors of both case workers and attorneys who the father is for all the children. Including one child to whom there is a possible chance of being the father, yet CSD has continued to not make any written contact for DNA except a false allegation of there slanderous words.
He has called and talked to the intake worker and case worker that he has no problem of taking a DNA test to prove that yes he is indeed the father.
My question is why all of the State, Federal, Civil, and Human rights is being denied to this man? Being denied to be apart of his children lives?
CSD is not above the law even when they are delusional about there authority however here they are not letting this man be apart of his families life?
Yes there is corruption in the CSD to the point that they break the State, Federal, Civil, Human rights and laws just to turn around and make money on the children, distroy familes, put there political and there religous or non religous beliefs upon your children and families, deny and disregaurd your religous families beliefs, placing there racist and sexist beliefs while violating yours, abuse and harm children while they are in the CSD system, and out right manipulate there rules and beliefs to get more money.
The CSD is sladerous and make up false allegations while forcing the family under protest, coercion, and threats to sign papers that are untrue just to get your children back. I know this because I am not only a witness but families a victim to the kidnapping organization.
How come the news reporters and news casts don't acknowledge such corruption? There are plenty on families in the USA to talk about the ordeal and abuse and out right breaking of the laws from CSD involvement. I know for a fact that there are endless stories in just Eugene and Springfield alone. I think that the news is bias on this sad fact just because they are more then willing to talk about the stories on the few children that really needed to be safe versus the fact that most children never needed to be removed from there families.
That is not journalism at all but very bias and not good reporting. A good reporter will find both sides of each story not just the very few that obviously doesn't allow citizens to create a fair opinion and to understand the whole picture. Good and bad. That is why Ophra, Dr. Phil, 48 Hours, Nightline, 60 Min., and a few more are the programs that people look upon as good reporting and not just bias or oppinion reporting
When the case worker came into my home she violated a lot of laws and even there own rules, yet everyone wants to ignore the rights and laws that are suppose to protect the families from such arrogance of the law. I ask that the reporters place the spot light upon the CSD because there will be a lot of corruption from law breaking, abuse and tax money waste that will arise from a investagation.
I am sure that a lot of other families will say the same thing let alone very simular stories. Children are literately being sold for money by CSD. How you ask...the CSD will take away parental rights and once that happens turns around and puts the child up for adoption. That is where the money is being made. A former Oregon Procecutor Weidner has not only seen this but has talked about it. A child is sold for $85,000, and that is per child.... per child!!!
Where is this money really going for especially when we are in dire times? It sure isn't for keeping the family whole but to destroy it. Why are we as tax payers allowing one of the most money taking organization to continue to abuse the American family? Is this not a very inportant and special need to keep a family together so they can help build America back to its glory? Our soilders are fighting for the families freedom yet a State agency is spitting that freedom back into the American face.
Where is the reporter who is going to report such abuse upon our American families rights, laws, and get to the bottom of this? I know if I was watching tv that I would be glued to the tv about the story. It would be a huge story like the multiple births in California, Brad and Angelina being parents, or the airplane landing in the river. There is a lot of attention on the multiple births and possible CSD involvement and I would think that this a perfect opportunity to talk with families who have been through, during and even those who are staring to have CSD involvment in there families lives.

OLCC NEEDS TO GO

With the news of the olcc threatening to cut hours, employees and raise liquor prices. I think its time they get out of the liquor selling trade and let it be sold as it is by most staes. This would bring the cost down through competition by the stores. Its a win for people who consume it as well as people who sell it. Olcc can use there resources for enforcement of underage buying and selling and the serving of alcohol to people who are over the limit. How much revenue is lost by people buying there alcohol across state lines where it is lot cheaper.

Springfield Cat Petition

For those that believe cats, as with every other type of pet, should not be allowed to roam, visit http://www.thepetitionsite.com/2/springfield-cat-ordinance to sign the petition. If enough people sign, I will take the petition, along with sample ordinances from other cities in Oregon, to the city council meeting during public speaking. You must be a Springfield resident to sign. Eugene residents will have to start their own petition.

The Petition:

Roaming domestic cats are not only a nuisance to community residents, but they are also a danger to local wildlife. http://www.abcbirds.org/abcprograms/policy/cats/materials/predation.pdf

To The Springfield City Council:

We the undersigned request that ordinances restricting free roaming of domestic cats be established in the city of Springfield. Roaming cats are a health concern, leaving their excrement in flowerbeds and sandboxes where people are likely to come in contact with it. Some individuals have severe allergic reactions requiring the use of an Epi-pen after roaming cats leave hair on their patio furniture or door mats. These cats have also been known to cause damage to various plants and personal property, costing residents unnecessary expenses. Their roaming infringes on the rights of other pet owners that could otherwise set their bird cage outside on a warm sunny day or allow their pet rabbit to romp in the back yard. But, the inconveniences inflicted on the citizens of Springfield are only part of the issue. According to the American Bird Conservancy, scientists estimate that nationwide, cats kill hundreds of millions of birds, including endangered species, as well as more than a billion small mammals, such as rabbits, squirrels, and chipmunks, each year. The "pests" killed by domestic cats can take food sources away from wild animals such as snakes, hawks and owls. In addition, it is in the best interest of the cats to be kept indoors. In Springfield, many cats suffer shootings from residents that do not want them on their property. Even a small pellet gun has been known to cause paralysis in cats. Traffic also poses a threat to cats. Furthermore, roaming cats add to the feral cat population in Springfield. It is in the best interests of all involved for domestic cats to be kept indoors. It is time cat owners are subject to the same restrictions as all other pet owners. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
