    transmission

About two weeks ago I lost transmission of KMTR.  I have a converter box and have had no problems up to this point, always receiving a clear image.  I rescanned the channels, but to no avail.  The signal at times comes in all broken and digitalized and at other times nothing at all.  What changed and what can I do to receive the signal like I use to?

I am sorry to hear that you are having transmittion issues.  I am not sure what has changed.  I can tell you that nothing at KMTR has changed.  We are still broadcasting the same way we were at the same power strength we were at two weeks ago when you lost transmission.  I know it is frustrating, but we are not the cause of it not working.  Where are you located?  Indoor or outdoor/roof antenna?  If it is an indoor antenna, does it have an amplifer nob on it?  Did a big metal reflective surface appear in your neiborhood or in your house to refect the signal off of it?  There are a lot of different things that could have "changed".  None of them, however, I can 'fix' from here.  I do not have a magical button that I can push that will bring your signal back.  Five years ago, when we turned on our digital transmitter, we were at 100% power.  As I write to you, we are at 100% power.

My recomendation to you and anyone else, for that manner, is to install a roof antenna (if you don't have one) and point it toward the coburg hills.  This one thing clears up 75 to 80% of all 'I not receiving your station' issues.  After you install it and you are still not getting us, call the station and ask for an engineer to help you troubleshoot it.
