This is a GREAT day to be an American. We can now hold our heads high and know that the world sees us in the true light of charity.

Now, a woman can walk into a clinic in a foreign country and say “Give me an abortion, funded by the taxpayers of America! No longer will I be forced into motherhood by the evil George Bush and conservative Republicans of America! They MUST pay for my abortion, even if they disagree with it and even if I am NOT a citizen of their evil country!”

 

We should be proud that this pressing issue was one of the FIRST issues our new president addressed. In this time of financial disaster and world strife, THIS was one of the worst problems facing Americans from coast to coast. We can now proudly open our wallets and insure that mothers anywhere on the planet can receive a American taxpayer funded abortion.

 

Our new president is showing us the stern stuff he is made of.

He is showing us and the world how He can tackle the truly important and dire problems of today.

 

Yes, hold your head high America, our new president is showing the world WE care.

I agree with you!  What are we thinking of here in our country?  Let's fund the world's abortions while we struggle here in our country to fund out schools, police and prisons!  What was the GOP thinking by blocking American dollars funding abortions in other countries?  Why don't we give away free food to all other countries as well??? 

I think that the right person was put into the Oval Office.  I hope that we just give away our country as well. 

I must say, Ricky, that I HOPE you are jesting.  The notion that Obama is now going to spend our tax money on funding abortions in other countries is just what many people in our country have been objecting to for years.  Bush has been accused of interfering with issues in foreign lands, yet when Obama does it, the act becomes sacred aongst some extremists on the liberal side of life. 

Come come Jim, how can you label as extreme those of us that are truly compassionate?

Are you so unmoved by the suffering and troubles of the world (for America is to blame for most) that you jest about our new presidents policy decisions?

 

This is truly Change We Can Believe In.

 

We must show the world that we have overcome the failed policies of the last eight years. Where we responded with war and violence to the challenges we where faced with.

We must show the people of the world that we have truly changed. That we will respond now with compassion and understanding (and dollars). We will tear down prisons and let so called terrorists free to return to their former lives. Who are we to label and imprison such people who are simply fighting for what THAY believe in? Is this not truly the definition of a patriot?

 

We must not criticize or try to obstruct our President. All Americans should support our presidents policy decisions, for they are Right and Just. There should not be ANY dissent whatsoever. Of coarse, WE where free to disagree, obstruct, protest and encumber the previous administration because THAT PRESIDENTS policies where evil, racist, terroristic and just wrong headed! We where correct to oppose such a President, just as we are now correct to stifle ANY dissent of OUR President.   

 

Why just today, while discussing the stimulus package with top lawmakers in the White House's Roosevelt Room, President Obama shot down a critic with a simple message.

"I won," he said,  "I will trump you on that."

 

This simple message from our President is a gentile reminder to (just sit down and shut up), so I can lead this country where I want, regardless of the wishes of the other 49% of  people that didn’t vote for Me.

 

So, let’s all agree to follow our President, even if He does not address the problems and minor inconveniencies that face most of us (like lost jobs, homes, retirements) and let’s have Change We Can Believe In…..

Also, let's close Gitmo. Doing the politically correct thing is much more important than doing something that may make any sense.

While we're at it, let's increase capital gains tax rates. As Charlie Gibson pointed out in his interview with then-candidate Obama, raising capital gains tax rates has always resulted in LOST tax revenue, but it should be done anyway, because it's "fair".

While we're at it, it's UN-fair that the lowest 50% of income earners pay up to 1% of the taxes in this country, while the top 5% of earners pay only 60% of the total taxes. We need to get to the point where the top 5% pay ALL the taxes and the rest of us get every government service for free!!

I'm sick and tired of having less just because I didn't study in school and I don't want to work hard. I want my share, and President Obama is going to see that I get everything I'm entitled to!

Thank you all for your posts on this thread, the original as well as the replies.  They provide much needed humor in this frustrating time.  I wish Liberal's could see how ridiculous their actions appear when they use taxpayer's money to fund their ludicrous objectives.

Re: I was thinking perhaps that Obama won simply because the Republican Party has become too Liberal and therefore lost votes, either to the Constitution Party or from Republicans that simply didn't vote for lack of a qualified candidate.  I believe (and hope) that there are still more Conservatives in this country than Liberals and with a truly Conservative opposition, Obama would not have won the election.  What are your thoughts?

And lets make certain that the folks who do the labor which creates the wealth that the top One percent earners siphon off, pay a higher percentage of their income in taxes and fees.

Not one of those top 1 percent have ever come forward and taken Warren Buffets offer to show how his secretary pays a higher percentage of her wages toward taxes. She makes about 35k and he is worth billions.

Warren Buffet and Bill Gates come right out and say truthfully that the problem with American Society is that the rich do not pay enough in taxes.

Also, Lets keep spreading the propaganda that putting the Capital Gains tax back to levels of the Reagan Administration is a Tax increase.

You know what, our tax money being used for overseas abortion, that is bad. I mean you say that we care, we care about what, not the the baby I'll tell you that. If the mom does not want a baby yet then she should not have done you know what. God made sex for married couples that want babies. He said, "Get married and multiply." Our pres is showing us what he is made of he is made of letting women KILL there babies without guilt. You need to save the baby and at least give it up for adoption.
