On a recent trip to New Delhi, India, was amused by the dashboards of the chauffeured cars I would rent. (Sane people don't drive in India)

In every single rig I would encounter, there was the Hindu equivilent of a plastic Madonna or Jeus on the dash. Most of them were of the Lord Ganesha (pictured), though some were of Hanuman, Shiva, or of a famous Guru.
Was struck by the idea that in a place such as this, so totally removed from a Christian Ethos, that we could find such a striking parallel. It was as if the Universiality of the Human Spirit was being communicated honestly, half-way around the world, by a tacky religious dashboard trinket.
An ascendant man, living in a degenerate age, MUST, by definition, live in contradistinction to his times.
