    Vehicle - Bicycle accidents

I see we had another today :-(
My question is when will the authorities crack down on the bicycle clowns
that disregard the laws buy blowing stop signs, riding down the sidewalks and disregarding the "walk dont walk" signs. I think when your on the sidewalk, you observe the same laws that pedestrians are supposed to but also do not. As the price of gas goes up I am sure we will have more organ donors.

    rgl...

Would you be so callous in referring to the person killed in this accident as an "organ donor" if they were a friend or relative? Shame on you.

It would be nice if these idiots would follow the bicycle traffic rules, but since the police cannot/willnot even inforce the laws against running red lites for cars, I hold out no hope for a police solution to the bicycle problem. Rather than have a fit over these morons who don't even realize how close they come to getting killed, daily, I have come to consider them as squirrels.  (I like squirrels, and really, really, really don't want to run over them). Squirrels are unpredictable, and don't have enuff brains to stay out of the street, and sad to say, there is absolutely nothing that can be done about them, except to keep your eyes open whenever they are around.

Ashame he pulled right in front of the car..things happen.
Maybe he was just stupid, maybe he was not paying attention or maybe he was just trying to beat the car like so many of them do. Point is..he made a mistake and now he is gone. Cyclist on motors or bikes, people without helmets and seat belts can end up as donors.

Peds seem like the most perfect example of a larger problem, especially if we are talking about inner Eugene.  Yikes!  Step RIGHT out in front of moving autos, when they know they are coming.

Have long wondered if it isn't from the training we provide school children with school buses that contributes to this.  Kids get off the bus and jump right out into the middle of the road, because they know they can.  The whole world stops for them and they expect it.  The mindset seems to transfer over to stepping outta LTD or off the curb.  Perhaps we are training people to be squirrels?

An ascendant man, living in a degenerate age, MUST, by definition, live in contradistinction to his times.
